A recent graphic published by sports bookmaker Paddy Power has revealed that Barcelona are among the cheapest in Europe’s top leagues.

The cheapest season ticket found at Camp Nou this season was sold for a mere £116 with only Portuguese giants FC Porto (£88) and Swedish Allsvenskan side IFK Göteborg (£89).

In comparison, the English Premier League, renowned for its quality, is also well-known for having some of the priciest football tickets in the world.

Even with all the money being pumped into the Premier League, few would make any football bets on English sides to beat Barcelona in European competition this season or next.

The graphic below shows that the cheapest season ticket at Arsenal is a staggering £1,014.  For that price, one could a season ticket at FC Porto, Barcelona, Standard Liege, FC Porto, Aalborg BK, Valencia, IFK Göteborg, Bayern Munich and Sporting Club of Portugal and still have a few British pounds left!

Following Arsenal, the next most expensive cheapest season tickets in the Premier League are as follows:

Tottenham Hotspur (£765)
Chelsea (£750)
Liverpool (£685)
Southampton (£648)

Even with all the goals scored at the Emirates so far this season it doesn’t make Arsenal’s pricing look any better.  Gunners fans with the cheapest season tickets in the stadium have still paid £32.71 – nearly £9 more expensive per goal than second-place Bournemouth fans who have paid £23.91 per goal at Dean Court so far this season.

When it comes to value for money in the Premier League, Manchester City’s £299 season ticket means fans have paid £6.36 per goal under Pep Guardiola.  They are followed by Burnley fans (£8.66) and then defending champions Leicester City (£10.43).

Following their move to the Olympic Stadium this season, an increase in capacity of nearly 45,000 compared to the Boleyn Ground, West Ham United are able to offer to cheapest season ticket in the Premier League this season – a bargain £289 – £5 less than Stoke City.

Even the Hammers cannot compete with Barcelona’s bargain prices who are able to attract fans from all over the world with their ticket pricing, added to being a fantastic city and being one of the best football teams in the world currently.
